Bhopal also called “City of Lakes” was founded by Raja Bhoj in 11th century. Today it counts amongst the most prosperous and developing cities of India. The city airport is named after Parmara ruler Raja Bhoj and is called Raja Bhoj Airport. Airports Authority of India (AAI) observed an exponential escalation in the civil aviation and carrier out an exhaustive methodical study for the expansion and transformation of the airport in order to handle huge number of visitors both international and domestic.
